I read some of the posts on this group, and can't believe that most of the people post do or die messages such as, ' If my cat won't stop (fill in the blank), I'll be forced to : Put her to sleep. Find a new home for her (As if the new owners will appreciate her problem) Punish her Let her out the door.
Wow! My 2 cats don't know how lucky they are. I saved them from the streets, and now they think they're royalty. Guess what.....I agree with them!!!! That's why my family's happy, content, and lovin' them

The majority of the posts I see in this group are genuine pleas for help from people who love their cats (and animals in general). But there always seem to be a few that really make me wonder! It's a mystery why some people ever have cats in the first place. The same people that complain about their cats' behaviour would never do so about a child. And I know that cats aren't human children, but they are only doing what is in their nature, just as any infant. The majority of people are smart enough to *child-proof* their homes for the child's safety and their own convenience. I don't understand why the same concept escapes them when it comes to cats. Granted, there can be some truly annoying/disgusting things cats will do, but they are, for the most part, behaviour brought on by a medical problem/neglect/stress/etc. And, again, most people really want to work with the cat toward a solution, not just change the cats' personality for their own benefit. For those of the latter school of thought, though, if it were the same problem with their human child that person would have that child to a doctor very quickly. I'm with you. I don't get it!

Same here. I'm the one who's lucky that Rocky wandered in off the streets and adopted me.

I think its sadly obvious ... some people think of their pets as disposable items.
