Having shopped around quite a bit for these, PetsMart actualy is cheaper than any other source I could find, even mail order through the mag ads.

Actually Petsmart is the cheapest and highest quality source. We have two very active cats and we bought a cat 'tree' that really looks like one! They climb is endlessly for over six months now and it hasn't shown much wear at all. Definitely worth the money. This model (it has large eaves) was over two hundred dollars but they do love it so!

i don't know, are you handy at all??? It seems to me that you could get some wood and some carpet remnants and design and construct your own version, even without a kit
