I'm new to reading this group since I recently got a kitten, and I enjoy reading the various posts. However, I'm confused about all these strange posts that start with 'MEOW:'. They look like a bunch of baby talk crap when I read them; it's really pretty strange. What is all this weird stuff, and why do they feel the need to write this?

It's an epidemic. Doesn't anyone actually *read* posts before they jump in anymore? Or is this another troll. Hmmm, you ever notice how most of the names begin with 's'?

I don't think she's a troll. I think she's just wondering what MEOWchat is. I mean, think about it. MC might seem strange to someone who is new to the group and doesn't understand what's it's about. I thought the same thing when I first joined this group.

Shannon: Meowchat are posts wriiten by members pretending to be their cats. Yes, that sounds a little weird at first, but it's not really. It's just a bit of fantasy. I don't particpate in it myself, but I do read it and it can be very entertaining.

Back to lurking..

Shannon, meet Steffie. Both of you, meet Hope. All of you, please check out Deja News before you expose yourselves as newbies w/o Netiquette.

What happened to the 'kinder, gentler nation' ?

Instead of blasting the newbie, why not silence them by simply answering their question, welcoming into the pack, and having one more cat lover join the conversation?

None of you have yet answered the question, yet there have been about 4 to 5 different beligerent posts!!!

Retract the claws, people!

So sorry, but many people do tend to feel offended when they have words like 'crap' applied to them or their posts by a first time ever poster- (I checked DejaNews).

Don't be so hard on a newcomer, you should WELCOME HER not scold her!
