my cat shmendrick died on october 11. He had to be put asleep due to complications owing to his diabetes. 'Shmen' was a great cat ..a 17 lb black and white..a good bird catcher and mouser...he was the gentlest cat Ive ever had and made friends with all. He will be missed very much. thanks to all who responded to my call for help on trying to treat his problems.

Michael, this isn't nearly enough, but I am very sorry.
Schmendrick sounds like a very special sweetie. I am certain that he was fully aware of all of your efforts to help him in his illness. Granting a mortally sick cat final release is the least selfish, most loving, and most difficult decision that we animal lovers face.
My heart goes out to you,
M Patterson

Michael, I faced the same decision last year with Shera Lou. Seventeen years of friendship. She also had severe complications of diabetes, after years of maintenance on insulin injections. It was very hard to say goodbye. On the other hand I was able to give her release from a little tired body that just couldn't carry her spirit any more. In sympathy - Diane
