Hi, I'm new 5to this group and would like a few answers.

I have just got two new kittens (Scully and Mulder) and I am tryingto integrate them into a family of two cats that are two years old (Zig and Zag).

One of the older cats couldn't care less about them the other just runs out the room. Could you give me any tips on how to make them see sense about each other.

Also my kittens toilet is very loose and runny with a small amount of blood in it. I was wondering if any one knew the problem or if I should get them to a vets as soon as possible.

Thanks

SImon Pennington, Zig, Zag, Scully and Mulder.

Last fall I took in a three week old stray that started having the same 'toilet' troubles. The vet checked for parasites when we got her. We eventually lost her to dehydration from the blood/water loss. Our vet infomred us that she could have had the parasites when we got her, but they may not have been noticeable. Ask your vet to check for parasites and even treat her for them. Also, you can pull up on her skin to check and see if she is dehydrated. If it snaps back down, she's ok. If it is slow to return to normal position, she may be dehydrated which is very serious. I am not trying to worry you, but it broke my heart when I lost mine, and I would hate for it to happen to anyone else.

Welcome to rpc, all of you.

You should get the kittens to a vet as soon as possible. The blood could indicate something serious that needs to be dealt with right away. Also, the vet should check them for general health. The older cats will probably work things out with the kittens in time. Zig and Zag probably don't know what to make of the newcomers yet. Be sure to give the older ones lots of reassurance that they are not being replaced and that you still love them.
