Hi, Don't know if any of you can help me, but everyone's responses to other posts have been great so I thought I'd give it a shot... My cat Samantha has been acting very strange lately. She cries often which she never usually does-she's very quiet. She also cleans herself constantly, every five minutes it seems. My mom thinks it might be an intestinal or bowel problem because Sam is in her litter box constantly but her litter box is practically empty every day. I thought maybe it was her diet because I've just been feeding her dry cat food for a while now so I added some wet food to her diet and that seemed to help a bit but now she's back to meowing pitifully, cleaning her bottom continuously, and spending lots of time in her litter box. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with her? At any rate I'm going to make a vet appointment for her as soon as I can. But any information or ideas on what to do that you might have would be helpful. Thanks a lot, from me and Sam.

Your kitty might have an impaction or something. If she hasn't done anything in the box for a couple of days, please get her to the vet. I've found mineral oil to be a good laxative. They'll lap it out of the spoon.

Sounds like a urinary tract infection- very serious- please get veterinary help ASAP. That is very painful and potentially lethal.
