You guys probably already know the answer but honestly, I just read it in another unrelated newsgroup.
Before you bring the kitten in, dust it with baby powder then dust your other pets with baby powder. Introduce them. They all smell alike and the transition will be a little easier. Does this work? Anyone try it? I think it sounds cool.

Hello, I've done it wrong and I've done it right. Wrong will last a lifetime.
The wrong way to introduce a cat is to bring a kitten into the livingroom in your arms while senior cat is on the couch. Not only did the senior cat hate the kitten for life, he hated me from then on. The right way, which we did with three and four....put tuna juice on all their noses....and let the kitten wander in on her own...Do not let the cats see you touching, holding, petting or in anyway owning the fact that you brought this cat in. I've also heard that rubbing all the cats with one towel and mixing their scents works. Good luck!!
