Last year I got my then 16 yr old cat one of those big pillowy cat beds for Xmas & she loved it. This year she's mad at me for going back to work so she's been into 'creative peeing' & has peed all over that bed. It's washable & I plan to take it to a laundromat but I'd like to know what detergents, pre treaters, odor removers, etc. I can use that will get rid of the stench. Please let me know soon ;the thing's so toxic I had to put it outside on the porch.

Since the bed is obviously washable, the night before you're due at the laundromat, place the 'stopper' in your kitchen sink - or the bathtub - and add a 60/40 solution of White vinegar and water, then soak the bed overnight, don't rinse it, just squeeze out the excess vinegar/water before you head off to wash the laundry (place in a plastic bag) the next morning. Place the bed - alone - in its own machine, use warm/cold wash/rinse setting...add detergent, softener(?), and you should have a nice fresh cat bed when it's dried.
Good luck to you!

When one of my cats (I don't know which one; they are both spayed females, and neither is talking) got into a spraying match with a feral cat, she (or they) sprayed on the carpet. I bought a specialty cat-odour-removal spray from the vet. I tried normal household cleansers, but they went again in the same spot. And, yes, I made sure their litter tray was clean.
