I guess it depends on the cat. I have two cats, both are about 1 year old. One is a small tabby, he was the runt of the litter and hasn't appeared to grow for about 3 or 4 months. (Weighs about 6 pounds). My other cat is 8 pounds and still growing. Some cats don't reach their full size til about 2 years old.

They will also grow bigger if you get them neutered early. The animal shelter near us neuters the kittens before you can adopt them. When we got Kaybee they recommended that you wait for 6 months. We only waited about 4 1/2 months & Kaybee grew to be huge (I mean tall - not fat). The kittens that they are neutering early must grow to be the size of

At twelve months they should be full grown. I don't remember exactly when my cats stopped growing but it was about that.

I was told my several breeders that certain breeds of cats, the British Shorthair and the Maine Coon for example, take 3 years to reach their full growth.
