Dinah, my parents' kitty, loves all the usual kitty-friendly people food (meat, cheese, butter, etc.) but also some other strange things. She will kill for fresh bread straight from the breadmaker, and is quite a fan of pasta, dumpling dough, white bread, oatmeal and occasionally legumes (we never give this stuff to her, since we're not sure how good it is for a cat, but she often sneaks up on the counter and chews through the plastic wrap if you leave something out). She has also been known to lick on pears, plums, and banannas, never taking a bite out of them but licking quite intently for several minutes.
My brother's cat loves all of the above (save the fruit), and is in addition a big fan of pistachio nuts. She will also drink his tea if he's not careful, by dipping her paws in the cup, licking them off, dipping in again, etc.
I, alas, have no kitties of my own, because I'm still in graduate school, and my field of study requires that I leave the country approximately once every three years. Since I won't have my own kitty until I settle down long enough to be a good mommy, I must live vicariously through other peoples' kitties (which is why I lurk in this ng). However, once I hit a part of my life that is more amenable to keeping a cat, I am sure I will become one of those eccentric cat ladies who houses 50 cats.

Hello cat people!
I wondered if there were a few stories to share about strange things your feline friends decided they liked in addition to their usual diet of Iams kibbles, Whiskas, etc.
For my two, Willow, my 18 month-old tabby, loves cakes, particularly cup cakes, and also biscuits such as shortbread and digestive. She also likes slices of courgette (= zucchini), Indian poppadums and naan bread, tortilla chips and twiglets (she just licks off the coating leaving a slobbery remnant in your hand), porridge (with golden syrup), red kidney bean juice from the can, milk with cornflakes in, milk without cornflakes in... She will kill for minced beef, bacon rind, chicken or turkey bits, fish and her treat of raw lamb's heart.Cocoa however won't even eat titbits of meat, it's cat food or nothing.
Other cats I have known enjoyed curry, spaghetti, cauliflower cheese, Christmas Turkey (You BAD CAT!) and anything that was on your plate to start with!
Any other examples to relate?!

Ours absolutely go crazy over bananas! They've chewed through plastic bags before to get to banana bread.
