Animal Abuse (was not for the fainthearted)

I've read that there are programs for adolescent offenders that start with the assumption that they were never taught to empathize or care. The program involves living in a place where their main function is caring for sick and injured animals. The programs have shown some success. I can't remember where I read it, but it would at least be an alternative to violence and simple fines.

Here in Albuquerque, there was a man arrested for cutting the ears off of a pit bull puppy recently. He is in jail, but I'm not sure exactly what the charges were or how long he will be in jail. The news has followed this story from the beginning, and they give updates on this creep. The puppy looks pitiful

Errr, Ummm, I meant the man will have a criminal record
